On October 09, the FLEGT team from the Guyana Forestry Commission and representatives from the EPA – Guyana, the Guyana_Revenue_Authority, the National Insurance Scheme – Guyana, and the Ministry of Labour & Manpower Planning Guyana conducted a Compliance Outreach session in River’s View Village for several FSOs. Toshao Gregory Williams and members of the village council welcomed the team, followed by a discussion centred on the compliance requirements that FSOs must follow to operate on the local and EU markets as Guyana moves towards licencing under the FLEGT VPA in 2026. Individual support was also offered to stakeholders during the session by NIS, while relevant agencies addressed FSO queries. The EU-funded session was implemented by IICA Guyana and hosted by the FLEGT Secretariat with support from agency reps.
