An opening ceremony was held today, July 29, at the GFC Multiplex, to welcome a twelve-member Liberian delegation to Guyana. Hosted by the Guyana Forestry Commission, the event officially marked the start of a week-long learning exchange focused on sharing experiences and fostering mutual learning on carbon, VPA, forest partnerships, financial sustainability, and other emerging forestry issues. The delegation comprises representatives from several key Liberian forestry and environmental institutions, including the Forestry Development Authority (FDA), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Ministry of Justice (MoJ), Liberia Revenue Authority (LRA), National Union of Community Forestry Development Committees (NUCFDC), Liberia Chainsaw and Timber Dealers Union (LICSATDUN), and Heritage Partners and Associates (HPA). The Chairperson of the FDA Board of Directors and Chair of the Liberia Implementation Committee (LIC), Honourable Philip C. Parker Jr. III, is also a part of the delegation.
