The Digital Wood Tracking System (dWTS) pilot testing continued with various stakeholders. This hands-on testing session enabled participants to explore the system’s real-time timber traceability features, which allow for end-to-end tracking from forest to export. The activity forms part of Guyana’s ongoing efforts to digitise and modernise forest governance systems under the GTLAS. Representatives from across the forest sector have benefited from the pilot testing, including those from large and small forest concessions, sawmills, lumberyards, and Amerindian villages.
This effort is a collaboration between the Guyana Forestry Commission and the Agence Française de Développement (AFD) under the FLEGT VPA Programme, and development partners Pepps Engineering and BF Consult.
