Guyana Timber Legality Assurance System
The Complaint Mechanism allows all stakeholders, without discrimination, to file a complaint concerning the functioning of the GTLAS or if they believe they have been negatively affected by the GTLAS.
The mechanism will receive and handle complaints from Forest Sector Operators (FSOs) and the general public through three channels: Government ministries and agencies, the Independent Auditor or the JMRC. The Management Information Systems Unit (MISU) of the GFC will then archive all complaints in the Complaints Register.
The detailed procedures for each channel’s complaint and dispute mechanism will be developed during the Implementation Phase and made public upon completion.
